Led by the esteemed founder, Scott Griffiths, also known as Optamus. Collaborating with Optamus is Joshua Eggington, known as Flewnt, a proud Noongar rapper hailing from Boorloo (Perth). With a profound family legacy deeply rooted in activism, Flewnt utilizes the power of Hip Hop as his platform to convey a compelling, positive, and uplifting message to his community.

Together, Optamus and Flewnt spearhead a range of transformative programs. These initiatives are conducted at notable locations such as Banksia Hill Detention Centre, City of Belmont, and the City of Kwinana.

Our programs encompass various educational activities and arts programs, including music, song, dance, and theatre. By engaging youth through these creative outlets, we empower them to express themselves and discover their potential.

At Hip Hop 101, we are driven by a shared passion for using Hip Hop as a catalyst for positive change. Our team is committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of young individuals, offering them guidance, inspiration, and an opportunity to thrive. Together, Optamus, Flewnt, and our dedicated staff are dedicated to creating an inclusive and empowering environment through the transformative power of music and the arts.

We understand the importance of accessibility, which is why our programs will be delivered through community centers and local schools located in areas with a significant population of Aboriginal youth. By partnering with schools, community groups, and other charitable organizations, we aim to provide widespread access to the life-changing benefits of Hip Hop 101.

To achieve our goals, we actively seek support from government grants and corporate sponsorships. By securing these partnerships, we can fund projects that not only make an immediate impact but also pave the way for long-term collaborations in multiple regions across Western Australia. In doing so, we aim to create employment opportunities and mentorship for exceptional young artists.
Our ultimate mission is to make a difference by offering healing, inspiration, and support to our young Aboriginal people. Through the power of Hip Hop and artistic expression, we strive to ignite a sense of pride, resilience, and cultural strength within our community. Join us on this transformative journey as we work towards a brighter future for our young Aboriginal individuals. Together, we can uplift, heal, and inspire the next generation.
